About Us

Dear potential customer,

My name is Forbes Lindesay, and I've spent the last 10 years battling addiction. Unfortunately some people scoff a the idea that you can be addicted to things as seemingly benign as Twitter and Facebook, but for me they have had a huge influence on my life. For many years, I was spending so many hours on Twitter and Facebook that it was affecting my work.

When I realised how much of a problem I had, I initially tried to cut back. The problem was that even though I tried to control myself, I found I had often loaded up twitter, and spent an hour scrolling through before I was even aware what I was doing.

I knew pretty quickly that I wasn't going to be able to solve this without help, so I asked my girlfriend to set up parental controls on my phone to block Twitter entirely. This worked great for a while, but then I just got into the habbit of checking Twitter on my comptuer instead.

This is what motivated me to build Save WillPower. Trying to controll my cravings by blocking the websites felt like playing whack-a-mole, and I needed something more reliable. By locking my password for twitter away in Save WillPower, I knew I wouldn't be able to access it until I waited for the timer. Not only was this a better solution to the problem (there was no way to use proxies or other devices to bypass the blocks), it also meant that I was able to take care of this myself, without putting the burden on my increadibly patient girlfriend.

As I write this, I've been using a prototype of Save WillPower for several months now, and it's improved my life enormously. I have a new job, which I absolutely love, I've found more time for hobbies, and I find I am an all round happier person.

Wishing you the same success I have had,

Forbes Lindesay
